Automated Passenger Clearing System (e-channel)
Named one of Hong Kong’s “People Engineering Wonders for the 21st Century” by the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers in 2013, the border crossing e-channel introduced by ATAL, were completed in 2004. The gates made use of biometric technology for ease of access at border control points in Hong Kong.
