Project Initiation Ceremony for San Wai Sewage Treatment Works

Hong Kong, 13 May 2017

ATAL-Degremont-China Habour Joint Venture was honoured to organise the project initiation ceremony with Drainage Services Department (DSD) to signify the commencement of construction of the new sewage treatment facilities in San Wai.  The project involves design and construction of a new plant of 200,000 cubic metres per day, which increases the capacity of existing San Wai Sewage Treatment Works.

More than 150 guests including Mr. Henry Chau, Assistant Director of DSD, Mr. Bevis Mak, Executive Director of AECOM, Mr. Tang Lai-tung, Chairman of Ha Tsuen Rural Committee, Mr. Kevin Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of ATAL, Mr. Raymond Chan, Chief Executive, Environmental Engineering of ATAL and Mr. CY Fong, Project Director of ATAL-Degremont-China Habour Joint Venture, joined the ceremony to mark this momentous occasion. In the ceremony, officiating guests performed groundbreaking, traditional Chinese blessing ritual and roast-pig cutting ceremony.

The construction work for the new plant is expected to be completed by end of 2020 and the project will be followed by a 15-year operation contract.  Our project team looks forward to working with our valued partners to bring this project to a successful completion.
